Choosing the Right Heater

Choosing the right heater will depend on your personal preferences, do you want an electric heater or a wood burning heater? Do you want an economical heater, or one that heats up rapidly?

1. Harvia Vega BC60, 6 kW (5-8 m³): The smallest that could heat the Camilla XL, this electric heater is the least expensive option. It’s ideal for smaller saunas and is easy to install. The drawback is that it might struggle to reach high temperatures quickly in the upper range of its capacity.

2. Harvia SW80, 8kW (3 Phase Input 7-12 m³): This electric heater can comfortably heat the given sauna volume, offering faster heating times than the Vega BC60. It requires a 3-phase power supply, which may be a consideration for electrical infrastructure.

3. Electric Heater Harvia Cilindro90, 9 kW (3 Phase Input 8-14m³): With a higher output, this heater is capable of quickly heating larger spaces, giving it an edge in efficiency. The cost is higher, and it too requires a 3-phase power connection.

4. Harvia Spirit Wifi Controlled SP90XW, 9kW (3 Phase Input 8-14 m³): This offers the same heating capacity as the Cilindro90 but adds Wi-Fi control for convenience. It's the most expensive and might be more than what is needed for 8.2m³, but it allows for remote operation and control, which could be a significant convenience feature.

5. Wood Burning Harvia M3 Heater and Chimney (6-13m³): This offers a traditional sauna experience with wood burning, which can be more cost-effective in the long run and is suitable for the sauna size. However, it requires more maintenance, and the initial setup is more complex with the need for a chimney. It also provides a different heat sensation that some may prefer.

What is Thermowood?

Thermowood stands out as the material of choice for the Camilla Sauna, thanks to its exceptional qualities. This thermally treated pine wood undergoes a specialised thermal modification process, significantly reducing its moisture content.

Less Warping

Through the process of gradually heating and cooling the timber, all resins, sugars, and impurities are extracted. Closing the cell structure results in a moisture content of only 7%, making the timber incredibly stable, durable, and free from impurities that may attract insects. This meticulous method ensures a high-quality sauna that will provide a comfortable and refreshing experience. 

Increased Durability

This not only enhances its resistance to warping, shrinking, and rot but also ensures superior durability. With low thermal conductivity, Thermowood offers a gentle, slow heat-up, promising a more enjoyable and comfortable sauna experience.
